The problem we solve

More Marketing Data. Not Enough Clarity.

  • Rising Advertising Costs

You’re paying more for clicks and leads, and it’s not clear what’s driving the increase.

  • Declining Lead Quality

Lead volume looks fine, but fewer leads turn into real customers.

  • Reports Without Answers

Platform reports show what changed, but not why, or what to do about it.

  • Uncertain Next Investment

Budget decisions rely on gut feel because the data doesn’t point to a clear answer.

MetricPilot helps connect the dots between marketing activity, customer behavior, and business outcomes.

What decision-ready analytics looks like

See the kind of diagnostic thinking behind every engagement: what changed, where it’s coming from, and what to investigate next. Switch between a growing local business and a larger multi-channel advertiser. All data is illustrative.

Weekly leads vs. qualified leads

Last 8 weeks. Lead volume is flat while qualified leads decline.

All leads Qualified leads

Week 6: qualified share fell more than 15% below its 4-week average.

By channel

Where the change is coming from

Illustrative channel performance this month vs. last month
ChannelQualified shareCost per qualified
Google Search$5,200 · 78 leads33%was 61%$200was $111
Meta Ads$2,800 · 47 leads51%was 50%$117was $117

Google Search’s cost per qualified lead rose about 80% while Meta Ads held flat, so the investigation starts with search.

Example insight

Lead volume remained stable, but qualified lead conversion declined, increasing the cost of acquiring valuable leads.

The decline is concentrated in Google Search, where the qualified share of leads fell from 61% to 33%. Meta Ads held steady at about 50%, which points toward a search-specific cause rather than a business-wide one.

What we’d investigate next

  • Search term quality. Are new or broad-match queries bringing in people outside your service scope?
  • Geographic targeting. Are leads coming from outside the areas you actually serve?
  • Landing page conversion. Did a page or form change alter who completes an inquiry?
  • Lead qualification. Did the definition or process for “qualified” change recently?
  • Campaign mix. Did budget shift toward campaigns that tend to produce lower-intent leads?

Illustrative data for demonstration purposes. It does not represent any client, employer, or actual campaign results.

Example marketing diagnostics

How a diagnostic engagement works through a problem

These are hypothetical scenarios that show the approach: the question, the data, what might emerge, and what could be recommended. They are not client results.

  • Local service businessHypothetical example

    Rising cost per qualified lead

    The problem

Lead volume looks healthy, but the sales team says fewer leads are worth calling back. Costs per booked job are climbing.

    Data we’d analyze
    • Search terms and match types
    • Lead source and location
    • CRM or call-tracking outcomes
    What might emerge
    • Broad-match queries matching services the business doesn’t offer
    • A growing share of leads from outside the service area
    Possible recommendations
    • Add negative keywords and tighten match types
    • Refine location targeting
    • Track qualified leads as the main conversion
  • E-commerce storeHypothetical example

    Declining e-commerce conversion rate

    The problem

Traffic is steady, but the conversion rate has slipped for six weeks and nobody can agree on why.

    Data we’d analyze
    • GA4 funnel by device and channel
    • Checkout step drop-off
    • Site and promotion change log
    What might emerge
    • Drop-off concentrated on mobile checkout after a site update
    • Paid social traffic shifted toward lower-intent audiences
    Possible recommendations
    • Prioritize a mobile checkout fix
    • Separate prospecting and retargeting results
    • Set up a simple weekly funnel check
  • Growing multi-channel advertiserHypothetical example

Marketing spend growing faster than revenue

    The problem

Ad spend is up 30% year over year, but revenue is up only 10%. Leadership wants to know which dollars are working.

    Data we’d analyze
    • Spend and revenue by channel and campaign
    • New vs. returning customers
    • Branded vs. non-branded search
    What might emerge
    • Budget growth went mostly to channels with rising acquisition costs
    • Some branded search spend may capture sales that would happen anyway
    Possible recommendations
    • Rebalance budget using cost per new customer
    • Design a holdout test for branded search
    • Set channel-level efficiency guardrails

Our approach

From Data to Decisions

A simple, structured process that starts with your business question and ends with clear next steps.

  1. 1

    Step 1: Diagnose

Start with a discovery call to understand your goals, channels, tracking, and the problem you’re trying to solve.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Discover

Analyze your data to find what’s driving results, where spend may be wasted, and what’s worth fixing first.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Optimize

Deliver a prioritized plan of practical changes and, where useful, simple tests to confirm them.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Measure

Check whether the changes worked and refine the plan, either as a follow-up or through monthly advisory.

Each cycle feeds what was learned back into the next diagnosis.

About the founder

Work Directly With an Experienced Marketing Analytics and Optimization Leader

I’m Rahul Bhole, Founder and Principal Consultant at MetricPilot. My background spans product management, data science, and marketing technology, with experience developing large-scale optimization and analytics capabilities at Expedia Group.

I started MetricPilot with a simple belief: businesses don’t need more dashboards. They need better decisions.

Much of my work has been on the systems behind performance marketing: machine learning–driven bidding, predictive models, automated campaign diagnostics, and the experimentation needed to know whether any of it is working. That work spans search, metasearch, and paid social advertising inside large, complex advertising ecosystems.

The hardest part is rarely the model. It’s connecting data science, engineering, marketing, and product teams around a shared understanding of the problem, then turning analysis into changes that improve efficiency and performance. That translation, from insight to practical decision, is where I focus.

MetricPilot brings that experience to growing businesses and agencies. It’s a new, independent practice, so the experience above comes from my previous roles, not from past MetricPilot clients. When you work with MetricPilot, you work with me directly, from the first conversation to the final recommendations.
